A bunch of t2 setup questions

I am actively seeking all the parts I need for my s5 vert t2 swap. With that said I want to do it right and don't want to buy or use parts I will not use for long. As far as the ECU is concerned should I just run a aftermarket ECU from the start? Should I go with the Haltech? If so which one, the E8? What should I use for the harness, the stock t2 harness with the Haltech E8 Patch Loom Kit? Then as far as a decent fuel setup I have no idea what I should have. I have a stock FD pump in the tank right now and am not sure what kind of horsepower that it will support. What size injectors should I go with? I am not sure what kind of horsepower the stock turbo is good for either. I was hoping for a setup that will put out between 300 and 400 horsepower with some degree of reliability. I am new to the turbo rotary so please help me out. Thanks guys :)

I had another question about the stock turbo itself, what size is it? The reason I ask is because I have access to a APS sr30 turbo which is like a t3. But I don't know if it that would work with the setup I am looking for. Does anyone know how a APS sr30 turbo compared to the stock s5 turbo?

If your looking to gain 300 400 BHP i would say go with a stand alone ECU simply because it gives the the ability to tune it how ever you want it and depending on boost, size injectors, Turbo size ect.

Look up on the Engine Management threads in the forum there are alot of options on which ECUs you can use Micro tech Rtek Power FC Woulf ect
They will guide in you the right direction.

Hope this helps

400hp will be a lot easier with a streetport, a stand alone and a bnr upgrade. Big difference between 300 and 400 hp. Narrow your goals, and people will start chiming in.

George, your bumps have been deleted. Bumps are forbidden in this section of the board.

Why do you think your question is more important than anyone else's that you bumped 3 times?

And it would be tough to get 400 hp on a stock turbo and stock ports. There are people that have done it here, but they did quite a bit of work to get there. a BNR turbo upgrade is probably a better choice.

Thanks for the help guys. Ok, say my goal is 400hp. I am looking for a s5 t2 engine for a rebuild right now, so a large streetport is going to be in part of the rebuild. What kind of BNR turbo should I be looking for? I am guessing that the FD pump I have will need to be upgraded, but to what? What hp numbers is the FD pump good for? Does anyone have any idea on what injector sizes I will need? Will I need to get rid of the stock intercooler and go front mount? Thanks

you'll be fine with 550/1680cc injectors.

I'm not sure about the FD pump, I have a walbro 255 and its good for a lot more than 400 hp...

for 400 hp, I would go with the BNR stage 4, the biggest one.

yes, you'll need to upgrade your IC, the stock intercooler is only good for around 300 hp.

are you going for 400 wheel hp or 400 crank hp?

400 wheel hp or crank hp, doesn't much matter, I will be happy either way

So this is what I am thinking so far with your recommendations, what do you guys think?

-550/1680cc injectors
-Keep the s5 turbo and do the BNR stage 4 upgrade
-Upgraded intercooler, what intercooler do you guys recommend?
-Standalone ECU, thinking Haltach E8 Patch Loom Kit
-Fuel pump, will current FD pump will work?
-Large Streetport during rebuild

What else am I missing or going wrong with?

Not looking to hijack at all but im looking for the same information. I'm going to have my turbo engine ported and looking to upgrade turbos and i was looking at bnr turbos but wanted to get more info.

While searching, I found a thread discussing the bnr stage 4. It was about four years old, but it said you could run it with either 720's all around or 720p and 920s?

Does anyone have any input on this?
I'm just looking to get between 350-400hp cranked, not to the wheel. Although 400RWHP would be great.

To help the op. I read that a good fuel pump to get is the walbro 255lph. And I read that fuel injectors should be as stated above. The thread didn't have a conclusion to it so it might have been a dud.

Im looking into aftermarket ecu's too but im a bit confused on which would be best for this car. Anyone with great experience wanna chime in?
