broken fuel injector connection

just like the title my dumb ass put too much force on the fuel injector connection on the wiring harness now what the hell do i do. HELP!!!

vipers 08-22-04 02:59 PM

go to the junk yard and take another connector (i'd recommend taking all 4 connectors from the doner car).... i did the same thing....those damn things are so brittle! be careful when pulling the wires from the connector, its kindof a pain! but it works..what year is it?? 86-87 had the same injector connection.....88 had its own connection....and 89-91 had its own! just make sure you get the right one! (im sure you knew all that..... but put it there just in case)

demonRX-7 08-22-04 03:15 PM

Anyone know where i can get a whole new wire harness?? that damn thing is just too old.

demonRX-7 08-22-04 03:16 PM

oh i have a 86n/a by the way.

WAYNE88N/A 08-22-04 03:22 PM

Mazda, but they'll want your first born for it...

Can you remove all the potting & rubber crap off of it and solder the connection back on? Or is the plastic shell beyond hope? Haven't had to mess with mine yet, so I'm just guessing here...

demonRX-7 08-22-04 03:29 PM

nope the plastic is beyond hope, i dont understand why someone doesnt sell these things i am sure they could make a killing. i just dont what to jerry rig my harness cause i could solder it but i want it to be like factory.

WAYNE88N/A 08-22-04 04:18 PM

I actually think guys have said that they're available at some auto parts places, Bosch or somebody makes them...Give it a little more time, someone will get on and straighten it out for you :)

Impreza2RX7 08-22-04 04:52 PM

If you can get ahold of k2rd, they sell them.

trochoid 08-22-04 05:17 PM

They are a standard Bosch connecter. Some auto supply houses carry them. Take yours with to match, or go to the salvage yard and get under the hood of a newer Ford. The Ford/Bosch clips snap on without the that damn metal clip. When I had my injectors cleaned I had to replace all of the clips.

When you tie the clips into the harness, use good crimp connectors or solder them, then cover the connection with the water proof heat shrink tubing, the kind that has the wax inside the tube.

demonRX-7 08-23-04 04:14 PM

OK guys not finding the connector any suggestions the dealership is way out of the question they want 600 bucks for a new harness. WOW. anyways i am at a loss i am gonna call a few more auto part stores but i dont foresee any luck.

WAYNE88N/A 08-23-04 04:22 PM

Man, do a search real quick. This topic pops up every week or two, and I know I've seen links to vendors that carry them...

boosted1205 08-23-04 04:37 PM

Ebay has them with pigtails. You solder the wires and you're set. I bought a bunch for all connectors including thermo sensor and BAC.
You guys gotta stop getting 15+ year old parts out of junked cars.

demonRX-7 08-23-04 05:20 PM
