bridgepoerted turbo II carburated?
hello guys
i have a couple questions. i have an 88 rx7 that has been swapped with a bridge ported motor. i don't really want to go keep it fuel injected because of cost issues. with the Bridgeport i need a stand alone ecu, different intake setup and fuel set up. and of course find a tuner that can tune the FMS i would get. which is hard to find around here. i have done a lil bit of research on converting 13b motor into carbonated, and i found a couple set ups i can use heres is the jay tech intake manifold for carburetor. http://kgparts.com/index.php?page=jaytech or the racing beat one http://www.mazdatrix.com/r-holley.htm i read that u can do the "blow trough" method or something on the carved so it can be boosted with good numbers n work good. can someone that has done this or know about it help me out? i would really appreciate the help. any suggestion on what parts to use of what to do would b great thanks in advance Abner |
Lol u are worried about costs with a boosted bp motor and u think going carb will remedy that?

get an rtek 2.1 and doing it your self with the stock manifold, is THE cheapest option. and you'll likely make more power.

If you don't have a decent local tuner and you don't want to spend a lot of money, then I suggest selling the BP engine and installing one with stock ports. Tuning a carbureted turbo engine is WAY more difficult than tuning one with a standalone EMS. If none of your local tuners can tune the NA BP engine, then they will blow up your engine for sure with a turbo.

Well its more of a finding a tuner thing.
But it was just an idea. So I tought I'd ask And I would like to have the AFM deleted. I was told the way to get that deleted would be to get a haltech ps1000? Idk if there is any other FMS that can have that deleted. Can the rtek have that deleted? N I would b using a ht60 turbo or somthing simular in size. Maybe a lil smaller. Or any suguestions on what ecu I can use to be abel to delete the AFM and work good with the bridgeport. |
I don't think you want to use a smaller turbo on a BP. Go bigger
For cheap EMS that'll let you run without an AFM, try megasquirt if you're electrically savvy. Next on that list would be a Microtech |

iv never really done any wiring like that, not completely like those probably require.
shouldn't be hard if its all labeled. i can figure it out if they are. since there would probably just injectors, the 2 intake sensors and what else is there to wire? im not completely clue less lol and my budget is not to low but i can spend about 700-800 for the EMS. i was thinking about power fc since it plugs into the same wiring harness with no need to rewire harness. but i was told u can't delete the FMS? what megasquirt or michrotech would work? is there different kinds? thanks for the help really appreciate it. |

N ya I no it will take a lot of $$ but I have a lot of the stuff like greedy fmic. Radiator, fan, hks bov, n other stuff needed. N so will the pfc be abel to have the AFM?
