Break light stays on
The break light stays on, but the parking break is down. What could it be?
I'm assuming you mean the brake light on your dash and not the actually lights... in which case, have you checked your break fluid? it's probably low.
+1 to above. Your "brake" fluid is low.
I think he means the E brake.
its spelled "BRAKE"...not "BREAK" |

Yeah but it doesn't seem to brighten when you have the ebrake up, so check brake fluid. Then I'd look at the sensors for the ebrake/brake fluid.
Its always something that easy, thanks
But then you have to ask, "where did the fluid go????"
It leaks out like like all the fluids in most 7s. In all the 7s I have/had, the fluid leaks from the bottom of the reservoir at the grommets. Why do those leak so bad? Zip ties seem to fix it for a while.
^^Get a new one if it's leaking there.
The other place fluid can disappear to is to the insides of the caliper pistons as they come out to make up for consumed brake pad material. Check your brake pads, they might be getting worn down to dangerous levels. |
Yeah, brake fluid low. Exact same thing happened to me today
Or I believe on series 4 it means the center brake light is out?
As for the leaking... it's a 20 year old grommet. Oh well... |
Dope! I had the same problem! thnx for the fix

As for the leaking... it's a 20 year old grommet. Oh well... Grommets were new on 3 cars. I also seem to remember having the light come on when I had a bad brake light bulb. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago though. |
