brand new S5 motor
well today is a very good day..i just recived a brand new (not a reman) S5 turbo motor...new housings new irons new rotors ect ect and it was assembled in japan its still in the factory shipping crate that has mazda stamped in it...im so excited to put this thing in and see how she runs..i bet no one will ever beleve what i paid for this thing...2800 bucks shipped!!!!! ill post up some pics later....does anyone know what the break in period would be for a new engine like this?
now one knows?
you think i got a good deal....lol
2.8k shipped?? Holy man you got hooked up.
yeah im so happy about this such a awesome deal i still cant belive it..lol
Wow, that is freeking awesome.... hook a brother up!!! I'd give the motor something like 2000 - 3000 miles before you started really going crazy on it. Maybe that's conservative, but it's good to be safe.
i wanna get my microtech tuned but i guess i cant do that until its broken in
Keep the motor stock until it is broken in, just put on a base tune.
I don't know the exact mileage, but keep it below 4k and out of boost for the first 1000 and go easy on it for another few thousand and you should be ok. Also, change the oil at 500 miles and probably at 1500 miles also. |
Check the owners manual. It is like you just bought the car. ha ha!
How did you get a deal like that? Or were did you get a deal like that.
Wow. This has to be the best buy I have seen on the net in a while. Congrats on the purchase. Now how do I get one just like you? ;)
I'd keep it below 4000rpm and 1/2 throttle for the first 2000 miles. Then slowly work your way up to WOT and redline over the next thousand.
i guess he is not going to hook us up
For real, Hook us up.
lol sorry no hook ups...lol well the story on it is..I had a rebuild motor in the car that only had 7k on it and i put a large turbo upgrade and a microtech in it over the winter. I then took it to get the microtech dyno tuned and it turns out it had low compression on the rear rotor so i needed a rebuild. we took the motor apart and all the apex seals were intact but the springs were flat as a pancake..and the irons used on the rebuild were trash so i got ripped off..just so happend dave at KDR perfomance talked to a freind of his in CT that had this brand new motor and had it sittin for a while and just wanted to get rid of it and get some money back..i think he said he paid like 6400 for it..lol....let me tell you what though this thing is truly a beautiful sight..ive seen some clean rebuilds but this thing looks amazing..every nut and bolt is even brand new on it and it came with new water pump housing water pump and a brand new flywheel!!!
