Brake squealing
 

I bought new Hawk HP brake pads and got my rotors machined because my brakes were squealing. They continue to do so. I am 99.9% sure it is coming from the front pass. side. The only other thing I can think of would be replace the caliper.....am I correct or does someone else have a suggestion?

I have the Hawk HP+ pads. These are the best pads I have used on my FC on a track so far. They squeal and they dust, alot. But they stop the car fucking fast. The pads were designed to stop your car fast and not fade. If you wont pads that dont squeal you should probably stay away from most performance pads.

I have the HP+ pads.....the squealing only happens at very low speeds, and only from the front....and it's LOUD!! And as I said, I bought the pads because my brakes squealed in the first place. Can anyone help me out here?

Hawk HP+ pads are going to squeal. The squealing will vary depending on wear and heat. You may get it to stop for awhile but it will come back. Bottom line.
I copied this from the Hawk website maybe you should do some homework befor shelling out cash for something you dont need.

ummm...ok maybe i just have the hp then....i thought they were the same thing....I got the ones that were made for the street and some autocross.....anywho, i don't think the pads are the cause of the noise....and they do work very good.

After installing my new c/d'd rotors ive been getting a bit of brake squeel. I enjoy it though :D

When you replace the pads, did you remember the anit-squeal shims and the little spring at the top of the caliper (for single piston calipers)?

Did put the silicone grease on the back of the pads, the part that sits against the caliper. If it is your problem... it will sound like squeeking, buts its more of a harmonic vibration, the silicone absorbs that and quiets it down.
