Are brake pads interchangeable between s4 and s5 models?
 

Just as the title said. Can i put s4 brake pads on an s5 rx7?

as long as they both have the same brake setup. 5 lug vs 4 lug.

is your S5 a base? Also is it S4 4 lug or S4 5 lug?

All 4pot 5 lugs are interchangeable.

In your profile it says you have an '88 GXL. The pads from your car would fit an S5 that has the 4-piston front brake setup (GXL, GTUs, Turbo, Convertible) but not the S5 GTU which has different calipers.

I havent bought the s5 yet. Im not sure if its a base model or not I know the RX-7 emblem on the back of the car is in gold, I think its a decal type of emblem. Also it has a spoiler (the stock mazda one). Hope that helps, and thanks for the replys.
