Brake pads???
 

danm....i was driving today, and i noticed a sqeeky sound in tha rear, it sounded like my dads old maxima sqeeking when it had bad brakes.....

so would this be due to my brake pads r used up?

if it is, should i get hawk brake pads?( i heard they were good)
are they good with stock rotors?

Yea, there's a tab that's supposed to chirp when the pads are getting worn down.

Pull the tires off & take a look. They're not bad to replace.

As for Hawk pads, the HPS series are good for street/strip use. Changing the pads yourself isn't really too difficult. Make sure you spec the rotors though - they need to be a certain width in order to have enough wear surface left.

If your going to"tackle" the job yourself, just remember the pistons on the rear calipers turn in. They are not pushed in like the fronts. Just line up the notch in the piston to accept the pin on the back of the pad.

Do you really want to spend more money for a pad that is barely used? I could see puting performance pads on the front, but not the rear. It is an easy job for a do-it-yourself project, whatever pads you go with. If you want you can buy the tool for a few bucks for turning the piston. My .02

I love my Hawk HP+'s on my FC3S--I have them on all four corners. The job to switch them out is easy. I would recommend getting the tool to screw the piston back in though--most auto parts store sell a universal tool to put it back in. Here is a link just for reference as to what it looks like:

I think that my HP+'s were $55. I have been able to get good prices through www.raceshopper.com

I do track days in my car, thus the HP+'s. I am a big fan of quality pads being that I had a set of cheap auto parts store pads that sheared off the backing plate on another car once that ruined my rotors.
