Brake fuse keeps blowing
Checked bulbs and most wiring... Once I hit the brake pedal the fuse blows, Rest of lights work just fine, it is just the brake lights that are giving me this specific problem... Any ideas?

Pull the small plug off the CPU that has the wire colors shown in the attached jpg.
Leave it off. Step on the brakes. IF the fuse blew, it's a stop light switch problem or possible ABS problem if you have ABS. Maybe a Cruise Control problem or cruise control wiring problem also. If the fuse did not blow, jumper the Green wire in the plug to the White/Green wire. Then step on the pedal. IF the fuse did not blow, then it's an internal problem with the CPU. If the fuse did blow, remove the bulbs from the stop lights (all five if you have the high mounted stop light also). Put a meter positve lead on the White/Green wire , and the negative meter lead on a known gnd, and meter on ohms. See if that wire is shorted to gnd or not. Bulbs have to be out to do that. |
On my way to do it... Thanks

Found my problem... Found moisture all around the fusebox area... Water is leaking down the pillar from the sunroof... This must have happened two days ago when it rained and the sunroof was "up" (not open just in the up position). I got no leaks with the sunroof closed all the way. Thanks hailers... now to find my leak... LOL...

Rust under the inside rubber seal, water is getting under my roof cover then going down the pillar post... Ain't got much time and plenty of silicone so that will have to do for now, sunny and hot as hell outside so it is the perfect day to it...
