Brake booster hose and charcoal canister hose...

Ok... just two things I want to find out as soon as possible.

First, where in the hell does the hose from the charcoal canister to the engine block plug in?

In the FSM/Haynes/various diagrams, it apparently plugs into a nipple near the oil filler... I can't find ANYTHING that looks like that. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

Also, the hose that goes into the LIM from the brake booster is two hoses connected by a check valve, right? I can't seem to find the check valve or one of the hose peices... since just the one peice isn't nearly long enough to reach the nipple...

I know those valves cost a fortune from Mazda (well, 32 bucks), but I could have sworn someone said you could get them cheaper than that...

I believe the check valve is inside the hose. I have a friend that threw the hose away and replaced it with a regular rubber hose because he didn't know there was a valve in it. So if I remember correctly, you won't see the valve cause its in the hose.

There's a 6mm nipple on rear of the engine's centre plate near the base of the oil filler neck.

The check valve is inside the hose. Squeeze along it's length until you find it. There's usually a paint dot showing its location.

I'm not certain, but if i'm correct, a hose starts at the gas tank vent, goes to the charcoal canister, then to the nipple just behind the oil fill neck... not sure if thats even right.

Mine has a visible plastic check valve near the booster... maybe its not the original hose though.

I think I found the nipple for the charcoal canister, BUT, I can't see it because of the wiring harness, and there's no way I could get to it without taking half my longblock apart... crap...

So, the vacuum hose that goes to the brake booster nipple isn't a two-peice hose? Because my hose is waaaay too short.

It's basically an S-shaped hose that's about 6 inches long (if it was streched), right? If it was 2-3 inches longer it would reach just fine...
