bov vaccum nipple help asap
 
Ok quick question i searched forums i have cut off the old bov and welded on a new one on the stock pipe. The other nipple on the pipe can i block it or no. This nipple went straight to the mani i blocked seems to run fine am i ok

Are you talking about the small (about 5/8 inch diameter) pipe off the side of the 2 in. pipe the BOV is on? If so, this needs to be plugged and the hole that nipple's hose runs to on the stock TID needs to be plugged as well. Otherwise you will have one mutha of a vac leak.

are you talking about the hose that runs to the BAC? Have you removed the BAC and blocked it off? Or are you talking about the one that runs to the TID? If you are talking about the one that runs to the TID, then you must block it off, because the afm will give false readings to the ECU. If its to the BAC, you better block it off, or you'll lose boost like a mofo. More info is needed. Is it on the intake duct? Or on the aluminum pipe that you put the new BOV on to?

sorry its on the aluminum pipe that has the bov and then the other nipple it had like a 2inch piece of vaccum hose going from the aluminum pipe to the UIM i just plugged both sides seems to be working great

it goes to ur BAC. Its that little cylinder on the side of the UIM. Not sure, but this is gonna effect the vac at some point in time, either warm or cold. The BAC pulls vac as needed to stabilize the idle, at this point its probably best to remove the BAC, but be warned, the coolant hose from the top of the engine to the BAC must be rerouted to the backside of the whatchamacallit that the coolant exits from the engine to the radiator (close to the thermostat facing toward the rear). Also you will need a block-off plate to block the opening created by removal. You are probably OK with it the way it is, but I wouldn't run it this way (personally). Why exactly is the hose removed? Could you reconnect it with the new BOV installed? I removed my BAC, and it's blocked off, with the coolant hose rerouted, and the hose in question blocked off. Again I have no BAC, its a $400 sensor, and so I chose to remove it and block it off. Eventually I am planning to run an FMIC, and with that, the aluminum tube, will be completely removed. I digress; The BAC is gonna suck vac at some point, and it should be pulling from somewhere, if its pulling from outside, then I have no clue what that will do. Test it out, or if someone is more knowledgeable, chime in, but warm or cold, its gonna do something.
