bov
can i put an upgrade blowoff valve with my stock intercooler and pipeing
Yes.
how would i go about that. is there a write up of some sorte.
It depends on the BOV. Most of the time you will need to purchase or fab up a short section of pipe to replace the stock pipe that comes off the turbo. The difference is that your new one will include a flange for your BOV. Then plug the BOV hole in the TID and you're good to go after connecting the vacuum line.
TID? what company is a good one to go with, and what company comes with the short pipeing.
Never been done before.
TID = Turbo Inlet Duct. This and other acronyms can be found in the FAQ thread.
Not sure offhand who sells the complete pipe replacement as I've always fabbed stuff like this. However I just checked with RX-7 Store and they have all the appropriate flanges for the popular BOVs. So in theory you could just have welder modify your stock pipe with the appropriate flange. |
I bought my Apexi Twin Chamber with the replacement 'up' pipe. It even has the nipple to connect the BAC if so inclined.
how dose the apexi one sound do you have any clips, or dose anyone wana fab one up for me and ill pay ya :)
I don't have any clips but it has a nice whoosh sound to it. Not that annoying high pitch squeal that ricers like so much.
Maybe Aaron has a clip, I think he has one too. |
The greddy type rs kit comes with everything you need to replace the stock bov... look here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GREDD...spagenameZWDVW

corksport sells BOV's with FC specific kits

As to the thread starter, good luck with your mod, this is done fairly often, and should not be hard at all to do yourself with just basic hand tools after you get the welding sorted out! |
