Borla makes headers?

I had no idea borla made a header for the NAs. I don't even have an NA anymore, but found it interesting. A little expensive though.

Wow, that's a little pricey, but the 1 million mile warranty might be worth the extra price for some... $900 for 25hp though... eek!

HP & Torque: 20 HP/ 25 ft lbs Torque

OMG!

Damn if that is true from just the header we may have just found something that out performs the Duals with the addition of a silencer and free flow cat-back.

Someone buy one of these bitches QUICK I want to see the dyno proof!

I hope the picture isnt what you get.:D

Lol, I'm sure they just give a generic pic for all of their headers.

Sweet fancy Moses that's expensive. Does that million mile warranty include rust?

25hp is a lofty claim, I don't see how their header design can be much different from what's already out there, it's not like a V8 or something where there's lots of ways to tune the pipes, our headers are pretty straightforward. I don't think we'll ever be seeing a dyno sheet at that price. :(

N/A headers are EXTREMELY sesnitive to pipe diameter and collector positioning. It is by no means straightforward, it has a massive effect on powerband.

Claims like that I assume would be using their full exhaust set-up, as seems to be the market standard when advertising.

I just send them (borla) an e-mail about this product we will see if they respond with any information regarding it. I will keep you all posted.

more than likely for a V8 swap

More than likely not. It would state it if that were true. It would state which V8 if you were correct. (Chevy 350, ford 302, dodge 440).

Are you kidding me?! Have a look at the RB header;
http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16130

Pipe dia. is just relative to the size of the exhaust port, collector positioning is just a convergence at the same length. There's only two pipes to deal with here so power pulses etc. that you'd get with a V8 and 4 pipes you have to tune by length, the complications that occur only marginally apply to the 13b.

Not kidding at all. The RB header is a "suit-everyone" header. Its designed to keep a powerband in the mid-range, for generaly streetability. IMO, RB stuff is over-rated.

Collector position and diameter has a huge effect on powerband. Denying this really has me questioning your knowledge of fluids... Would you like the explanation?

While I do not deny that building a tuned header for a V8 or 4-banger is more complicated, I stand by my point that powerband is affected by header design on a rotary.

Wow, its on sale too!
Yes, real dyno results would be great!

Mephis 10-30-03 01:13 PM

i wonder if its like a s stroke header, with big buldges and stuff bacuse i dont see hou its making that much more power.

MaxRX7 10-30-03 02:06 PM

$900, they really are some crazy bastards.

ajsuper7 10-30-03 03:24 PM

well it may be 900 bucks but atleast someone else is making quality parts for n/a rx7's, i say the more the better. ill stick with my newer style pacesetter though, im totally happy with it, but i need to fix my exhaust leak...its as loud as a damn motorcycle but a motorcycle on meth

Ryde _Or_Die 10-30-03 03:29 PM

ajsuper7, no you didn't! The ebay electric turbo!

ajsuper7 10-30-03 04:56 PM

haha...its not on anymore...my dad has my gtect so i could never run any before/after stuff...im pretty sure it worked seemed to give it more low end torque...but im not certian cuz i put the headers on at the same time. hey it was worth a try but in retrospec i should of just spent the money on weed, beer, or strippers...would of been worth more
