Border Racing hood fitting
My hood arrived today, had to test fit it.
Im so tired of seeing cars with black hoods, that im going to start the gun metal grey hood revalution. drove it around with stock intercooler to check the intakes temps, they where 160F!!! anyway took it back off and put the stock hood back on until paint and vmic / fd efans and ducting install http://infini-fc3s.cyberosity.com/ga...g+Aero+Bonnet/ http://infini-fc3s.cyberosity.com/ga...2/DSC04475.JPG http://infini-fc3s.cyberosity.com/ga...2/DSC04478.JPG |
Wow, how much do you love that car?
I sure love it. |
wicked nice, looks damn good!
|
Is 160F good or bad?
Where did you buy the hood? |
Sweet, How much? I see that it fits over the stock fan shroud. Fan too?
Always wanted one of these but they've always require the use of a different fan/shroud. Any under the hood mods to fit? |
You have a Black car so why why not Black? That silverish gunmetel looks like Crap, like its some primer job in the picture. Go Black for sure Man. :wtf1:

LOL my car is Green not black. The hood is used and came off a gunmetal FC. When I send my car out to get repainted it hood will be green too. I was only test fitting the hood to see if their are any fitmit issues. |

where can i get a hood like that?!!!?!?!!
|
Turn left underneath the money tree, then take a right on "rare and special next to impossible to find" lane :)
I think there's replicas out there though, but the real border racing stuff is tough to locate. Especially on this side of the pond. |
Very nice!
I have a question, though. It doesn't look like any fresh air is directed in to the intercooler. Does it still get enough air? |
oh, btw, it's beautiful. very nice find ;-)

i'm wondering if the actual vent is far enough forward for a v-mount, maybe the hole should be larger...?
intake temps at 100 would be ideal. |

not good... no ducting to the IC so that means no cooling. sounds like he has plans for a FMIC/VMIC so that will fix that. |
well really have not any progress except for getting the hood painted. not sure when I will get time to work on it. It needs the body work done. and getting the parts to build a motor with new irons and housings. But I dont see this car being ready to talk to 7/7/07 Rx7 Day here. Maybe by end of summer.
Its been parked for about 6 months now. |
updated image the hood painted Infini Shade Green and the vent part painted black

I see you removed those hoodpins, now it's much much cleaner! What's that engine on the stand for? Insurance? =)
|
That Cosmo is giving me wood.
|
That FC is HAWT dude! I used to live near you (about two years ago), but never saw any other FC's around...How long have you had the car?
Anyway, grats on the hood and good luck with the rest of the project! |
