boosting problems
So I have been trying to figure this problem of mine out for a while..here is what happens
When I start the car, it is fine, i let it warm up and drive it around. Boosts 11psi perfect, a bit laggy at times, but nice none the less ( stock turbo ). However, when i drive for A WHILE, like 15 mins, the car starts to act funny. It starts to not want to boost, feels kinda like a fuel cut at 0 psi, it lasts for a short time at first and gradually gets to the point where It wont move at all, just trying to drive with very little throttle is nearly impossible. BUT here is the kicker...I have found that if i turn the car off, let it sit for like 15-30 secs, then turn it back on, the car will boost and drive fine...at least for a little bit ( enough for me to move to the next street light for example ) I find that the longer the car sits, whether is overnight, or w/e, the longer it takes the car to get to this "state" I have tired a few things, pretty much have found all vacuum leaks, as car idle's perfect. I have replaced the TPS, which made a world of difference(before it wouldn't idle and was EXTREMELY laggy + this "state" = no fun at all..i didn't drive it ) Anyone else have a idea, or better yet, solution to this problem ?? My mods are S4 Turbo II - R magic 3'' turbo back - Racing beat fuel cut defender - GSL-SE injectors (primaries and secondaries) - a boost and temp gauge - have other stuff but not engine related |
I had a nice thanksgiving, but now comes round 2 !
I am stumped on this problem, anyone ? |
well too new to the car to know what is going on exactly, but it sounds like it could have something to do with something warming up and then acts differently. It could also be a problem with the ecu, but with the problem coming back faster the shorter it sits that doesn't make as much sense. It could be an electrical connection that is fine when it is cold then when it warms up it looses contact.

how could I even check that ?

How are you controlling the larger injectors? AFC? If you have no control, then you're running way too rich throughout most of the rpm range. This could be part of the problem.

maybe it would be, i was going to get a rtek real quick ( this week ) and go from their, i knew I was running rich, but I don't know if these are related or not, I guess ill post what happens after I get the rtek and a tune
