boosting problem
 

so i just got my motor rebuilt it has about 1k miles on it, for the first i hit the gas all the way to the floor and i boosted over 1 bar and it started pinging so i ported my waste gate as big as you csn go with out welding on a new flapper, and it still boost to about .8 bar, anything i can do to reduce this? also my car was producing a really wierd smell one i have never smelled before i cant evan explain what it smelled like sorry about the poor desrciption but any ideas?

this is a 87tii by the way, with 3 inch down pipe high flow cat
