Boost on stock IC?
Hiya!
My motor is still being built in the shop, and I was wondering - what kind of boost can I run on my stock IC? Intercooler upgrade is going to be my very next upgrade, but until then, what's a safe amount of boost? 8? 9 pounds? Mods in sig. Any help is appreciated! |
12 or so

I'm not a turbo guy, but i've been in the boards for a while, and i've seen 10-11-12lbs with a stock TMIC... After 11-12 you'll have problems

I hit 15 with my Haltech:) haha. Some pretty MAD intake temps though! The dyno is on my site. Yes, it was bad power for 15psi but that is because I didn't have it tuned.

I am running about 11 PSI, but I seriously doubt the stock intercooler is helping. Its not exactly the best design to begin with.

What were your intake temps Cosmo Dunk. On your site you said "Shouldn't be over 110 F". What were yours?
Update: Nevermind just saw your datalog. 116 f doesn't seem that hot on an 80 f day, but I really don't know what I'm talking about. |
Do you have anything to control your secondary injectors? If not, you need to get an S-AFC to control them because you will not know how rich or lean you are running. I am always much safer than everyone else, but I would say keep stock boost levels until you have a way to control the bigger injectors.
