boost problem, fixed..!
 

I was having problems with my boost. It would shoot up to 8 PSI then fall off about 5-6000.

So I wired my twin scroll actuator open.

WOW!! just hit 10psi all the way to the redline. Good lord!

say goodbye to your spool up time. I removed the twin scroll on an extra turbo I had and evn with a MBC I don't get full spool till like 4k :eek:

Spool up time is still amazing! Im spooled by 2500.

how did you wire it open?

bitch! Maybe this turbo is just old and tired, I'm swapping back on the other turbo since I just got done porting the wastegate on it.

Good to hear that you at least know where the problen resides. BTW, I am not bringing the Rex with me to Tucson (I will be there this week) so I won't be stealing that tranny from you.

with my ported motor I get full bost by 2k but it starts fallinfg off by 5500 rpms....

that was my problem till Iwired the scroll actuator open.

Safety wire... Resists heat.

um, could u explain pls j-rat?

Just out of interest (mainly to confirm the system was working properly) I did basically the same thing, but just pulled the green actuator doover the vac hose connects to. Boost came in later, and no difference in the top end, on a stock t2 with mild exhaust. Probably old news to plenty of people, but hey ;)

Rex: go find a coat hanger. Disconnect the actuator from the twin scroll arm, take hanger and hook the arm up to something so it stays open. Done (ghetto, but done :) )

It's about time you got around to fixit it, you've only been complaining about it for the past week!

I disconnected the actuator arm from the manifold arm. Then I ran some aircraft safety wire from the actuator forward. That keeps the actuator open. I can provide pics tomorrow, its too late now.
