Boost pressure sensor?
Hey guys, what's the symptoms when the boost pressure sensor takes a s#it? I think the ECU is giving me the code for that (it "fixes" itself when I let off the gas, it's kinda hard to keep the car sputtering down the freeway long enough to complete the flashing cycle on the DSS LED's I just installed). Anytime I try to accelerate past 3500 or so, it acts like it's starving for fuel, and the ecu flashes 1 long, 2 short pulses. Any "been there, done thats"?

Also forgot to mention, when I kill the engine now the tach sits @ 500 instead of zero. Never done that before...

just read the boost sensor voltages per FSM, they look good... Any other ideas?

Maybe a loose connection at the sensor? Electrical in nature?
Or maybe the diaphram in the sensor is shot. Put a vac hose on the sensor and suck on it. Did it hold a vacuum when you put your tounge on the end of the hose???? Or....never tried this.....put a source of pressure on the sensor, like a MittyVac, and apply pressure over nine psi. With the key turned to ON, do you kick a fault??? If the key is to ON, and you disconnect the harness plug on the sensor...does it kick a code/fault????? Got me. By the way...do you have a orifice in the boost sensor line??? A small piece of plactic located about a inch from one end or the otheR?????? |
