Boost Creep or what?
Here are my mods on my 1990 Turbo II.
Street Ported Engine Cone Filter HKS Turbo Exhast Test Pipe Walbro Fuel Pump HKS BOV Fluidyne Radiator Now I put the Exhaust and test pipe on yesterday. Today I was driving it and notice that it is bogging down very badly in almost all gears. I can hear the turbo spooling like crazy, but I feel almost no boost. It seems as though its building boost but its going no-where. Heck if I shift it the bov goes off...so it seems as though the turbo is building some. Now I am watching my Boost Guage and its not going very high...but the sound of the turbo seems like its getting alot more than what its showing. So whats the issue here. I haven't really got on my car to hard since I got the Exhaust and Test Pipe since I have not upgraded the fuel or got a FCD. Also I believe that I have a Exhast leak from the Pre-cat going to the test-pipe. I do have a midpipe...but haven't put it on yet....should I put it on or wait till I get my fuel mods? Also will a boost controller stop this problem? FYI I wasn't getting this before the exhaust. |
Boost Creep is when you're WOT and your boosting higher than what your wastegate is set to...so that's not your problem.
You mention test pipe and midpipe, but from my understanding they are the same? Can you explain:confused: |
I think he means a downpipe. He has the precat still on it but is debating wheather or not to wait to upgrade fuel before he puts it on.

with a pre cat and stock TID I doubt you will get any creep...
get a an aftermarket boost gauge. it's the first thing you should have bought. then find out what you are running. and FYI, the BOV can go off even with no boost. |
Yes I meant I have a downpipe but have not put it on. I can go out today and buy a boost guage and hook it up.
