Blue smoke from first to second @ 6k
My car blows a nice cloud of blue smoke at 6k when shifting to second from first. Any idea's on why? is that oil or gas vapor? Getting concerned. It only does it if i am really dogging it. Please don't respond with "just don't dog it" I am trying to pin point the problem. and correct it. Would tps adjustment cure this. please help

Sounds like a worn side seal. You probably have some oil blow-by at high RPM. It happens with older motors. It can and will still last a very long time.

I had a the very same problem, wich WILL clog your cats, i had to hollow mine out. ( i lost sooo much power from clogged cats, and the exhaust would glow red.)
Its just worn oil seals putting down too much oil on the side housings. When I rebuilt my motor i didnt replace the inner outer metal oil seal rings or any of the seals on the rotor, just the rubber part of them and new springs.... that solved the problem. |
