Biggest Injectors that SAFC Can Control?

I know that 1600cc is too big for the safc to control, what's the biggest they can handle?

I believe 720s

gsracer 06-22-04 02:21 AM

it has an adjustability of +- 50 percent, it would be possible to run 4 x 850

4 x 550 = 2200
4 x 850 = 3400
2200/3400 = .647 ~ .65 = 65 percent
100 - 65 = 35

So to get close to stock mixtures you'd start with -35 percent across the safc. Keep in mind when you start altering the afm signal, you'll also change the timing somewhat. According to henrik, a - 10 percent correction value will advance ignition timing on average about 1 degree. If you're still on the stock ecu, you could retard the timing at the cas to counteract this problem.

Since -50% correction is as low as you can go, a combined total of 4400cc/min is theoretically possible (the individual injectors sizes don't matter). But if you actually need that much fuel (good for well over 500hp) you should've chucked away the stock ECU and piggybacks a long time ago...

True, but Ive planned o go a different route, I was planning on making a 450rwhp turbo monster but realized theres no point in that If what I enjoy the most is the curves and autocross tracks. Basically I want a powerful road car, maybe 300-350rwhp. I believe the safc can control this type of power. Not sure what turbo setup to go with though. Ill probably go with 4x720cc/min injectors, the safc, walbro, aeromotive fpr and thats about it for fuel.

i just bought some 1000cc injectors (secondary)and was hoping that the s-afc would be able to control them, i hope im not fucked

MazdaRx7Racer4Life 06-25-04 12:59 PM

Technically, Like NZ said, you can control 4400cc/min with the safc, but if you NEED that much fuel, you shouldnt be playing with the safc, you should be at the EMS level.

oops, double clicked. :D

This would be fine. 2x550 + 2x1000 = 3100cc/min, which would require a -29% base setting to make the engine run normally. The big difference between the primary and secondary sizes will cause a hiccup during trtansition however. The S-AFC is not sophisticated enough to overcome this.

which is why im going with even injector sizes, 720ccx4
