Bigger turbo = damaged wiring harness??

I recently installed a 60-1 HiFi on my 87 TII. I'm concerned about how close the turbo is to the wiring harness. At its closest point, we're talking less than 1/4 inch!!

What is the best way to alleviate any potential problems?

I drove the car tonight, and while driving, my tach went out. Almost immediately afterwards, the car started bucking, and the lights started getting brighter and dimmer, etc. The stereo started acting weird as well. Could this have been caused by the heat buildup in the wiring harness? If not, does anyone have any other suggestions?

The car never did this BEFORE the turbo install.

i've recently bought a turbo benie for my to4, and wrapped the exhaust manifold and dump pipe in exhaust wrap. altogether it "controls those under bonnet soaring temperatures, protect your paint work and most importantly aide the efficient working of your turbo by keeping the heat in the quicker spool up."

however1 i doubt the electrical problems u experienced had anything to do with the heat. however2 i have heard of people taking off the standard turbo heat shield and that melted all the wires together. check the wires
