Big brake kits for the FC?
 

Can someone point me towards a place that sells big brake kits for our cars? I know alot of websites sell kits for the FD ( M2 performance makes some, Wilwood, stoptech, etc..) but I havent seen any for the FC. I know our stock 4-pot braking system is incredible, but with my making ~400RWHP and planning on tracking the car every once in a while, Id like to upgrade the brakes as well. PLus now I have a decent job and wouldnt mind dropping some money into things like this. ANy help would be appreciated..

If it fits a FD, "it should" fit the FC, as the FD calipers are a direct bolt on to the fc.

Uh, no.
The FD brake hub is slightly different, as it needs to accomodate larger diameter brake rotors.

Thus, the FD specific brake kits are not going to fit correctly.

Some guy from Endless was announcing that their company started to make kits for the FC3S.

Hope you're ready for the $3,000+ price tags...

K2RD had a kit that utilized a Wilwood setup. They had like two setups. Check out a guy on the forum named cymfc3s. He has that setup on his car.

why dont you just stick with stock brakes...just get better rotors...crossed drilled and or sloted..then go with a high end brake pad...just make sure you get the set(front and back) so you dont alter the cars brake bias..racing Beat has some good brake stuff..check them out..also, upgrade the brake lines...you will feel the diference...htey will have plenty to help slow your car down(with 400hp) better brake rotors and better brake pads wont heat as fast and the slotted/drilled rotors will help get rid of the gasses as they do heat...and best of all-it wont cost you 3 large

I think k2rd no longer does buisness. No one ever answers the phone and theres nothing onb the website. That precision site has some good prices.

I already have slotted rotors and good pads, with SS lines. Im not complaining about braking performance, as it is about the best Ive ever felt in a street car, but there is always room for improvement. Id think on track days, numerous slow downs from 100+ MPH may be a little more than the stock setup can handle.

I heard that they were in the process of moving because their landlord threw them out. Apparently they had to put everything in storage. They should be up and running by the end of August apparently. You can try to email them, but they most likely will not get back to you, at least until they are up and running again. I've tried emailing them twice a few weeks ago and have heard nothing.

holly shit$$$$$...there is a boat yard bout an hour away...I think I can get a heavy ass anchor and toss that out of the window to stop me...:) Just kidding..I just dropped 2+large on rims and tires, 1 grand on an exhaust sytem, $450 on a BC, $1500 on a FMIC(way back in the day) and will drop bot 2k more on my next upgrades...who the hell has 3k for brakes?????LOL

hey is that on high boost 400rwhp what psi are you running to get 400 my goal is to get a 400rwhp rx7 do you have any track times if you dont do you have an estimate of a quarter mile

I'd think that the setup you have should be ok for track use. Go ahead and get some Hawk blue/black pads for the track, though. I would take it out to the track and really flog it to see how the brakes hold up before dropping 3 grand on a big brake kit. Oh yeah, You prob know this but don't get x-drilled rotors. They are much more prone to cracking, etc.

Learn to drive, work your way to using the stock brakes at 100% and then upgrade your pads. I know of several racers, one in EPROD that use the stock setup with upgraded pads and excellent ducting. Works very good! "Slowdowns" from a 100+ hasn't even been an issue.

Cross-drilled and/or slotted rotors don't do a damn thing for brake performance. They only add in the bling-bling dept.

13.2 two peice rotor.

How much?
With that big of a rotor, it's almost required to go at least 17" rims.
It's definitely not going to fit int he stock 16's.

It should, but the supplied brake rotors are not going to fit.
