Whats the best cat-back to get for a N/A? Im thinking an Apexi N1 right now... but im looking for sugestions.

unless you want anooying loud go with duals

On the other end of the spectrum borla full stainless duals appear almost stock, but sound amazing, i have two pair and i love them, i'm going to make one set true duals

i have the single muffler n1. i love the sound. its just a little bit louder than stock but its deeper and sounds sweet.

I like racing beat myself.

racing beat is by far the best! they hold up well under the heat of the rotary and produce an amazing sound! i am not a fan of the apexi exhausts, too bold for my taste and im not convinced that they'd hold up; though i have no personal experience with that brand.

I have the corksport power series single cat back- similar to the apexi N-1 very loud yet very light weight, cheap ($280) and decent power gains plus you can buy the silencer if its too loud for you

i like the borla, racing beat and RP for n/a. n/a is way too loud unless you're still running stock manifold and cat for a n1

i have dual n1's with no cats and it sets off alarms and looks a lil big for my taste(i like more the sleeper look) but the sound is great doesnt sound high pitch at all, actually its very deep. i personally like almost any exhaust system u can get for an rx7 tho. good luck!

to my suprise too, its actually very quiet. it comes with a silincer built in. well mine did. and it actually is not changing color from heat at all. but i do agree with you, racing beat does sound amazing.

haha borla has a bigger muffler its just hidden so it doesnt stick out. and i measured the muffle of the stock exhaust and the apexi is smaller.

I have an N1 single with a RB header and bonez hi-flow cat. It sounds sweet, it's deep and not high pitched. It's kind of loud but it's not an annoying loud and sounds awesome when you get on it. I'm not a big fan of the fatty tip though....

I really like my Racing Beat exhaust, not too loud to be too terribly annoying on long trips, but loud enough to get noticed. I don't run the header, but the stock manifold and the RB downpipe and presilencer combo. The header adds a certain amount of buzzing noize up front (it's been described as being like a pack of bees under the hood). The iron manifold helps keep buzzyness and raspyness down. It sounds WAY better than those raspy fart can Civics.

To me the RB exhaust is perfect. For more power go for true duals or a tuned single exhaust from a supplier of road race exhausts (ISC for instance), but that'll be LOUD.

haha I knew it! I noticed that sound up front when I put the header on. You only hear it at around 1K RPM, after that it seems to go away. I love giving it some gas when i'm at idle just to hear the buzz, it sounds cool :tonque:

There's a sound clip of the racing beat ture dual exhaust at globalvicinity, but as of right not, I can't seem to get their website. Would have given the link if I could.

It sounded so good, I became an instant fan the momnet I heard it! Doesn't seem too loud until you want it to, and when it does, it sounds so good! Very much like a well tuned boxer engine.

I have a single N1 and I love the sound. My only complaint is that it is pretty damn loud and gets a little annoying on long drives, plus the tip is too big to my tastes. Theres a site up with several clips of different exhausts. The N1 is my car!

somone post a clip with the RB header and presilencer plus the RB catback too, please! I cant find one anywhere. I have the RB catback now and am getting the header + presilencer over the winter. I'd love to hear it first, I want to see what this whole "bee" thing is all about.

I have the Monza cat back and I love the sound. I was thinking about getting the RB header and precilencer. I bought the full RB system for my dad for fathers day and it made his first gen sound much better.

i have a racing beat header , with straight pipe (no cat), with the borla catback exhaust and it sounds good but its still loud.

i got my borla catback for $300 shipped new on ebay

Fart cans! That's good. I was looking for a term to describe that.
Im interested in a better exhaust as well. I want something that has a high strung kind of sound. More like a jet or semi truck rather than the muscle car brap, brap sound or the fart cans high school kids put on cheap imports. Don't want loud, but smooth sounds. Anybody know of something like this?

I'm partial to the Borla Exhuast. It has a great price (got mine for $400 or so) and a 1 million mile warranty. It sounds good --silent but deadly-- and it's pretty light (44lbs). It takes a bit getting used to the look because the tips are kinda funny looking. I've had mine for about a month now and it still looks good.

Truth of the matter is that it's all about how much $$$ you are willing to pay. So the choice is yours in the end.
