best degreaser for dynamic chamber and Manifold?
 

I've been using carb cleaner and a rag on the TB for like 2 hours now and its now finally nice and clean inside. I cleaned the upper and lower part of it with steel whool and it looks like nice polished metal now. The springs and shit and levers I want to clean too, but they are seriously greased up and I don't want to take them apart (no idea how to put back together) to clean them properly. My dad said to use some TSP and a brush to clean that shit..


Anyways, the chamber and manifold I stripped down are coated in this carbon/grease deposite that coats the whole inside of the 2 outer manifold pipes.. its a real bitch to clean cause I can't get in there with a brush, its too small.. What I've done is fill the sink up with really hot water, dish soap and a good amount of TSP. I then took some of this hardcore over cleaner (lol but it works) and sprayed the really bad areas inside and let it bubble up. I then dump it in my soup of cleaning chemicals (sink) and let it sit for about an hour.

Rinse wash and repeat.

After like 4 routines of this its finally clean, but there has to be a quicker way! Oven cleaner is ghetto.

Anyone recommend a good brand degreaser that I can use to soak the chamber now? Basically I'd love to soak it for like an hour and just pull it out and rinse it off and find pretty much no deposites left, I need some strong shit.

Its always best to take the actuators apart to clean them. Underneath the cover plates are a retaining washera nother washer, a seal, and the actuator rod.
You will likely strip the screws, but they are only a couple scents to replace, and there a couple of $2 seals on the inside that are a good idea to replace; Mazda has superceded the original design to a better design (IMO).
When the rods are out, clean them thoroughly with carb cleaner and a rag, and polish the rotating assembly.

When I want to quickly clean the intake runners, I use a whip wire in my drill/dremel and just pull that through slowly. Takes everything off down to the bare metal runner sand takes about 30 seconds per runner.

Take all your manifolds off, get a couple cans of brake cleaner, and goto town. Brake cleaner is fucking amazing. Great stuff.

Takes less than an hour to bust off the entire intake, and like me, you'll find shit wrong and you're just like "WTF!?" (such as a drill bit in your water pump :rolleyes:

NAPA has a product called SeaFoam--works great-follow up with brake clean

I love the citrus based products such as Citrosolv.

I like seafoam, but having aerosol really helps. In MOST cases, with gritted grease/oil stuck on say an oil pan, front cover (did this today) the aersol spray itself will sometimes blast the gunk off. Only bad thing is how fast it evaporates, and doesn't get time to "soak" into the stuff, if its really stubborn.
