Best brand o2 sensor to get ? Ngk , Bosch , etc ?
I need to get an oxygen sensor for my rebuild, i figured i might as well...
Think ill prolly go with the ngk, although some sites have been misleading about the applications it has ... NGK part# 24006 , sparkplugs.com lists it as not being used in RX7s , while at ngk.com it does (this is where i got the part #)...strange. whered everyone get their o2 sensor and what brand.. |
Get the cheapest sensor you can ..... it really dosen't mater. It is JUST a single wire o2 sensor.
Might even find a bosch box has an NTK sensor (Which is built by NGK) James |
I just bought a bosch, but I haven't put it in yet... I think my current o2 sensor has been toast since I bought the vehicle, so it'll be interesting to see the difference a new one makes.

i bought a universal bosch for like 17 bucks from Advance Auto. Works fine for me
|
i got the bosch for $14 at autozone

i would go with a bosch i have a new one waiting in the garage for me
|
I bought the bosch, because I asked for an O2 sensor, he ordered it in, and when I got it, it was bosch.
I payed 60$ for mine... 14$ wtf? I got shafted.. |

You all got shafted, Olympic sells the Bosch one for $7 :D
Mine are more expensive, now that I have to buy the $32 VW wideband :O |

I found one online for $35.00 , found another at rx7.com with oem connector for 40.00$ , to me id rather have the best i can get.....im not too fond of the bosch stuff, i myself would think ngk is better....and that you usually get what you pay for

A wideband O2 sensor is only needed to properly tune the engine. You do not NEED anything better then a cheap bosche for the stock setup or any other setup that used a closed loop A/F system. A wideband O2 sensor requires more electronics to work that will cost you nearly $400 new. So let me say it once more for those in the back. YOU DO NOT NEED AN EXPENSIVE O2 SENSOR FOR ANYTHING THAT IS NOT A WIDEBAND O2 GUAGE, MONITOR, DATALOGGER. If you're just running stock and do not need to tune an aftermarket ECU then you do not need a wideband system. |
So there's an NTK (by NGK - says so on the box) and an NGK? Calling around locally the Bosch unit costs ~$60CDN and the NTK can be had for ~$45CDN. I hate you bastards who are getting them for $14US! :)

When you run a wideband sensor/controler/display you normally install it in a new bung in the exhaust system.
Leaving the stock sensor untouched. James |
