best $600 ive spent on my car
I picked up a set of 4 tokico HP's from shox.com for $343 tax and shipping included. Picked up a set of RB springs for $259 tax included, local pickup.
Goddamn! what a difference! I was running stock springs that where sagging so bad that when i installed the RB springs that where suppossed to lower the car an inch, really only lowered the car 1/8" rear, 1/4" front. The shocks where so blown, i pushed the damper rod down with ease, and it never returned, all 4 of them where like this. Now the car is nice and tight, i can put power into, and during a right or left turn without the outer rear wheel hopping around. The car used to really wear me out when I would go crusing, or whatever, now the car feels brand new. I love it!! the next thing im going to do with the suspension is tighten up the body roll with sway bars front and rear, make the car even tighter. Im not sure if your car is as bad as mine was, but when i would take off in first the rear of the car would bounce up and down a bit. If i was racing the rear end would squat hard. all in all, its money well spent. -mike |

i want to replace mine also with lowering springs and adjustable shocks, also need wider tires and 5 lugs (mine is 4 lugs which sux) the front end should be lower than the rear, stock or not. i have a base model 4 lug, im happy with the wheels. i say upgrade the brakes,suspension,power, then the wheels. --mike |
bushings
You might want to think about picking up some urethane bushings for your car too. I recently put some KYB AGX and some RB springs in. Love it too. At the same time I installed the chassis bushings. I think I got my prothane set for $60 from nopionline.com. You could also look at the energy suspension ones.
But, they are a great combo. Little harder to put in, and it takes about 2 days. If you have the time, I would definently do it. |
