http://www.msnusers.com/fuelcutswitc...to&PhotoID=103 http://www.msnusers.com/fuelcutswitc...to&PhotoID=102 Alright the first picture is a before picture (if you can't tell), it is right after the engine was pulled out. And the last two are of it after we painted the engine. Everyone must tell me what they think, and I really don't want to hear about the green looking ricy (I noticed) but it turned out alot brighter than I thought it was going to be. |
Very clean.

I like it a lot, good job.
|
its for sure an interesting paint scheme.....
what does the rest of the car look like? i assume the colors match in some way nice job though! |
Actually I wasn't really thinking about the rest of the car matching  But the rest of the car is just the factory white.
|
that color is horrible...
|
what grade of paint did you use?
is it going to hold up to the high heat? |
Is it still out of the car? Can you paint it a different color now? That green will not look good in an engine bay.
But on a happier note: The painting itself looks very well done. If it was just a different color... |
i think it looks nice but im a black and white person myself. but other than that it's gorgeous
|
that color is horrible... Yeah, isn't great! what grade of paint did you use? is it going to hold up to the high heat? It is 500 degree ceramic paint, and I have used it before so it will hold up. i think it looks nice but im a black and white person myself. but other than that it's gorgeous Thankyaaaa! |
It is VERY well done. I will give it that much. As for the artistic quality of it? :o:
|
what did you use to clean the crap off of it before you painted?
|
what did you use to clean the crap off of it before you painted? Easy-Off oven cleaner, and a wire brush. And it took a good 1-2 hours to tape the engine off to paint it the grabber green. |
FREAKIN' JOHN DEERE GREEN??????????? When did your stepdad get an MG?
|
No it's acctually not even close to John Deere green it's GRABBER GREEN, but I thought about that after I looked at the old Johny Popper sitting in the garage. And I kicked my self for not painting it John Deere green and Yellow :D , because you can go to the John Deere dealership and buy the arisol cans of paint that is that color.
And it's not my step dad's MG Midget, it is my brother's. Some guy down the road from us gave it to him, and I am letting him have the subframe out from under the TII parts car so that he can put it under the Midget. |
Nice job, mine is painted yellow like that, except I painted the end housings instead of the rotor housings. Instead I did a bling-bling shine job on the aluminum. Wish I would have taken some pics of it.
|
thats damn nice
|
Wow, more people like it than I thought would. I figured everyone on the forum would scream ricer.
|
Even though the green is "rice lime" it looks great. That should look pretty cool in a white car. Did you spray or brush it on? I think I will brush paint my engine parts.
|
to be honest i absolutely LOVE the gunmetal/black colour. looks EXCELLENT. what colour is that?
for the record, the green makes me want to toss my cookies, but it's still an excellent job of painting it, so you get credit for that. :) |
RICER, just kiddin' nice job color little wierd but whatever!! i wish i had the stuff do an overhaul on my engine!!
|
The color that looks like gunmetal is actually cast iron 500 degree ceramic paint froma auto zone.
And I didn't overhaul the engine, I am just very anal about a clean engine and engine bay. So me and my brother went to work pulling the engine just to paint and clean. But we may be pulling it again once I hear it run (I traded for it a 1/2 a week ago, and still haven't heard it run). But I was told that it had a blown coolant seal, so I might be buying and O ring kit, and tearing it down. But the engine olny has 700 miles on it's rebuild (and it's huge Gorilla ports :D) I really can't wait to drive it once I get it put back together, it should be makeing at least 250+ HP with the size of the ports, as long as the turbo is working right. I'm glad the back tires are nearly bald, because I'm gona draw the cops in for tickets and Donuts:evilgrin: But then again I can't boost high or drive hard until the engine is broke in :dammit: |
Good quality paint job :) i'm sure it won't look as "ricy" when its all installed and you have things to compliment it. Plus, you can be fairly certain that it will get dirty very quickly, and cover up that vomit-green colour :D :D :D
What have you decided to do with the wiring? |
I found that RC engineering sells the injector clips, and all I need is 6 of those for the harness.
And my engine bay stays spot less, I wipe and clean every thing constantly. And I am also looking at buying a polished intake from a guy on nopistons, so it will look even better under the hood. And I can't even put this engine back in until I can afford a set of motor mounts, and mazdatrix is actually the cheapest place that I have found them from (43 bucks a piece) so I think I am going to buy a set of competition motor mounts from mazdatrix, and then I can drop my baby back in the bay. |
www.mazdaformance.com, whenwill you guys listen? Brian BLOWS everyone else's prices out of the water
