battery problem

I went to start my car today and the battery was died. so i put it on the charger. when it was done charging i put it back into the car and try to start it. and it went "click" and the whole car went died. the was no power to anything in the car. so i went to inspect it, i took the battery off and then put it back in, tryed to start the car again. It finnaly started.

heres the problem it keeps doing this. I have found out every time it does this i have to wiggle the negetive battery cable, and then it works just fine, and i have power again. Can someone tell me way it might be doing this. could it be a short somewhere or somthing

Use a file and file down the battery terminals for a cleaner connection or use baking soda. There might also be a broken connection/frayed wire somewhere.

you need to tighten the terminals very securely. I dropped a battery into my car too... and when i start... it clicks and all lights out. Wiggle the terminal and does it again. Tighten it down secure, problem solved.

Battery cables can corrode under the insulation at the clamp and still look perfectly good.
It's possible that removing & installing the battery remade a weak connection.

With the engine is idleing & the headlights on:
Check the voltage drop from the battery (-) to the alternator frame.
Anything over zero shows a weak primary ground.

While you in there, check the voltage drop from battery(+) to the alternator output post.
That wire can go bad also.
