battery cables and no spark
 

Well this was prolly posted along time ago but i couldn't find it on the search. My car has no spark it turns over ok and i just replaced the ignitors. When my friend got the car he put the battery in backwards so i wanted to know the possible damages that could cause this and what would be a good idea to check cause im stuck.

Anything electrical could be toast...Check all fuses, and suspect the ECU was fried. Also could be the CAS sensor. Really, you need to start from scratch and check EVERYTHING.

Ok i'm already getting a new ECU and the CAS is the crank angle sensor right and how would i check that tho i think its also fryed. As for the fuses they all look good.

there are resistance checks for the cas in the factory manual. I dont know if you can definately say it is good or bad just by checking that though (need lab scope to see signal).
try the ecu first. your going in the right direction. then like other guy said, keep checking everything

Are you sure that you inspected the fuses in the drivers side door bay? Sure the fuses that are in the engine compartment might look fine but you might have blown one on the other fuse panel

I serriously doubt you fryed the ECU or the CAS. That's what fuses are for....So one of them should be blown somewhere..

Fuses can look good and still be bad. Each one should be tested out of circuit with a continuity tester.

Nope...Fuses protect against over current, not reverse polarity. Fuses will offer minimal protection if the battery is connected backwards.

Yup - most semiconductors can outblow a fuse any day.

I wish they would include a heavy diode from power to ground in the ECU.
It might be a worthwhile safety mod.
