Bare block finished, big trouble in little China

K, so,I did the bareblock mod last night. I think I did everthing right, then it won't stat without startig fluid, and one it runs out of fluid, it dies. Here's what's done......

-----------FUEL
1-Fuel line connected to the firewall runs to the secondary fuel rail
2-The fuel line coming from the filter is going onto the left nipple on the primary rail.
3-The right nipple on the primary fuel rail is connected with my boost gauge, BOV(small hose), and pressure sensor.

------------Capped
1-3 nippled on front of TB
2-Small nipple on drivers side of TPS
3-Small hole on TID, under BOV hole
4-45* nipple on top rear of LIM, facing firewall

------------Blocked off
1-ACV pulled and blocked off
2-Small hole behind ACV blocked off (I believe it's called the split air pipe)

------------------other
1-The electronics on the vac rack. What do I do with the plugs after they've been disconnected.
2-The thing on the back of the turbo that looks like the wastegate actuator, but isnt. What is it, and do I need it?

Thanks for any help,
Joe

No answers? I'm completely lost. Also, when it was running on starting fluid, it'd rev to about 3K, and when I hit the gas it woud stall. But, other times, i would rev fine. I honestly don't remember the differences in setups when those 2 things happened.

Had the same prob with a bad AFM once.

It ran fie with ths AFM before I did the bare block thing, though.

Your vac line routing sounds a bit weird. Try your BOV/boost sensor/boost gauge from the nipple on the LIM by the BAC. The 45 degree nipple facing the firewall on the INSIDE of the LIM should go to the PD on the fuel rail. The small nipple on the intermediate housing between the oil injectors(you didn't mention this nipple earlier) is the fuel injector air bleeds, that should be connected to the back of the UIM by the firewall.

Check your injector plugs, the little clips tend to back themselves out of the connectors.

The emissions plugs can be removed, if they bother you, but it's a PITA. Just push them under the UIM and leave that project for another day.

Do you have any pics of your set-up? It would probably be a little easier to diagnose with a few pics.

I think I've gotten it down to a fuel problem. I'm not sure, though. These are pics of my UIM and fuel lines/rails. It's a Jspec, BTW. The line onthe right is the return to the tank, the line on the left comes from the filter.

You mentioned it's a Jspec.

Jspecs are known to have the fuel system backwards.

Try reversing your fuel lines.

Kind of weird huh?
My Jspec has Apsec setup with a lot of missing nipples and is an oddity.
Others have a reverse fuel setup.

Also. If the AFM is unplugged it will rev for a second then die off.

The AFMis plugged in, but when it was pulled out of the front clip, the metal ring wasn't pulled of, so the wires got ripped out. We re-soldered the connections as well as we could. Could we have done something wrong?

Sounds like you killed the AFM - the switch to let the fuel pump run has a pretty fine tolerance. AFM's are a dime a dozen, I'd get a good turbo AFM.

Short term, jumper the yellow fuel pump check connector on the passenger side shock tower to force the fuel pump to run.

K, got everything to work. Turns out the JDM engine's have the fuel lines switched. Fixed that, and all works well now. Thanks for all the help.
