is this bad?? please help!!!

last night i was filling up with oil, i put the filler cap on crooked and when i took it off two small pieces of the plastic thread cracked off and fell in to the oil neck. how bad is this for the car?

Not a big deal. They will never be sucked up by the pump since it has a filter screen. Likely they will come out with the next oil change.

On kinda the same topic when i take my oil cap off while the car is running weird noises come from the filler tube

You're hearing the movement of the eccentric shaft, oil pump, splashing of the oil, and the vacuum that the intake is sucking through the purge valve.

when those plastic bits are in the pan they are floatig around. If you are like me and get on your car hard with your lead foot, you could possibly run into oil pressure problems if the peices are sucked up and clogg up the screen. But if the oil pressure is good then go ahead with it just keep a close eye on the gauge.

You would have to have a LOT of plastic to starve the pump. The pump pickup screen is huge.

that is true but what else is down there, how many miles are on the car and what else has the oil system brought by (if the oil filter went into bypass mode). But like I was saying if the gauge readings are ok and you feel up to it then let it ride. If it was my ride i would be doing and oil pan gasket tonight.

miss read this, yea change the oil see if they do flush out, get down there with a strainer and pull the plug and see what you get.

It just recently started doing this, is that a bad sign?
