bad o2 = fuel cut or break up
well Its a 87 t2 in a 1st gen running a rtek 1.7 and basically after it warmed up it would start to buck and hesitate (more you got on it the more it would buck) The only eror code I was getting was the o2 so i replaced it and the tps at the same time and now it runs great however I am still getting the o2 code some times. so basically I was wondering if anyone has ever had a simular situation,
Thanks kevin |
oh yea, before it warmed up it would drive great and boost good. It seemed as soon as the 02 sensor would be heated up enough to read it would start bucking.

Im having the same situation right now but haven't had much time to work on my car.Is your car still bucking like it used to?

The O2 sensor is ignored by the ECU if the engine is doing anything other than low-load cruising. It is not the cause of this problem. If the problem comes and goes according to temp, the coolant thermosensor on the back of the water pump should be the first suspect. However I had exactly the same symptoms and it turned out to be an ingition lead...

Long shot...are you running an S-AFC?

pretty much, you don't need the o2 for anything special if it's not a wideband it really doesn't do much |
no s-afc, already checked water thermo sensor so I guess it was the tps
