bad idle / no go - please help

3k into a rebuild, never redlined, never overheated, broke in for 2500 with oil changes at 5, and 1,000, and 3000...

throwout bearing sounds for a while, makes sense, didnt replace clutch.

clutch seems to be going, but BACKWARDS... here:
1st gear: hit the throttle, rpms go up, speedo doesnt
2nd gear: same as first
3rd gear: same
4th gear: rpms + speedo stay where they are (neither rises)
5th: same as 4th

no problem getting into gear, clutch pedal feels fine.

now, more recently (last couple of days) severe shaking at startup / idle (when cold, when warms up, everything is ok) usually idles at 750 on the dot, now bounces from like 100 to 1000 until its warm, entire engine shakes, looks like its trying to jump out of the car

now i know theres a clutch / flywheel problem because i can HEAR it spinning... scraping and spinning...

im thinking the other stuff (idle, etc) must be ignition? plugs / injectors? im doubting its a blown engine already, i have no other symptoms (smoke, etc)

let me get some input :(

also, cats have been gutted due to the rear cat guts banging around... so i gutted em all, now im thinking maybe when the rear cat broke originally some of it blew back into the y-pipe? or mufflers? would this cause any of these symptoms?

hey I have the same problems, I just take the gas up for a little bit until it gets alittle warm and it doesn't act like that for the rest of the day.

Any codes showing? I was going to say the thermosensor, but if that's bad, I don't know whether it will throw a code. It will default and cause a rough idle when cold, but fine after warm up.

1st, you need to pull your clutch/flywheel and see what damage is there.

2nd, you need to check your tranny and see what damage you've caused (speedo cable comes from the tranny, if the speedometer is screwy then something is wrong with the tranny or cable).

3rd, do a compression check on the engine to see if it's damaged as well.
