|
o2 sensor? new spark plugs? tire pressure?
|
Full tune-up is the only eliminator for bad gas mileage, if it makes you feel any better my N/A gets 27-29mpg (TII gets about 8, heh) :D I've got the following that are new:
Fuel filter Oil filter fluids spark plugs o2 sensor spark plug wires extra grounds some hella luck :) |
fuel filter?
|
alright i'll try those. thanks guys
|
Just do a basic tune up if you haven't done so .
Also, check your O2 sensor. |
shift blow 3 k, an try an keep her in closed loop. i get about 27-28 highway on my NA, and i usually average 25 mixed. when i had my ports wired open though my mileage went to crap.
|
i get about 330kms's to a tank. thats about 19liters per 100ks i dont know how to convert it to mpg:D
|
Why is it that the rest of the world is on metric and the US is not?
There seems to be no change in the future. I'd rather use metric. |

If it does not freewheel properly it could add a significant drag to the car at freeway speeds. As I recall those fans were designed to pull air sideways, rather than straight through. It is very easy to wire a relay off of the 5th gear/over the top switch to disconnect the fan when ever you are in 5th gear. |
With a Turbo, its hard not to love the boost, I think its best to save the boost for when you really want it...so as has been mentioned, shift below 3k when your not needing it, also I do alot of city driving, so I look ahead to see if I am going to get a light or not, & coast & take it out of gear if I am not going to get through a light...
Or when I get on the highway, if I am not in a huge hurry, I will get into 5th gear quickly without getting up into the high revs...makes a huge dif! Good luck/skill! |
SonicRAT, 27-29mpg?!?! That's awesome!!! Mine gets like 16 in the city... I need to do something eh?

I on the other hand am only getting 12 in the city but I just learned that my leading coil was not working. So I hope that my car will get closer to 17 with all 4 plugs firing. I figure if you are getting 15 to 17 in town with a N/A than you have nothing to worry about the rotary engine is not known to be fuel efficient. ;) |
Ok cool, thats what I thought -- I just couldn't see how he was getting 27-29.... that's like a toyota corolla gas mileage!
|
my car before had a gas leak it was like that comercial where the guy reved his car and watched the needle drop hahaha
