Arrow Backseats on a FC? o_O

I was browsing around the classified section, when I saw a TII for sale. When I looked at the pics, it was clear that there was a backseat. I think the person who as selling it wasn't quite sure if the previous owner bought it as is or if he got it installed.

I guess my question is that is it possible to install a backseat on an FC? Or is it some kind of special family edition of an RX-7?

Twas rare, maily because it was a dealer option, and the only people who bought the 2+2 option were middle aged men who needed an excuse for their wife to justify the car... For everyone else, the two seater is a two seater...

The back seat is straightforward to install if you have all of the bits. Likewise if you have a backseat it's straighforward to switch to bins.

Ahaha, that's why I just installed my backseat. It was "find room for the kids or get rid of the Rx-7".

I believe that every FC sold here does have a backseat.. I have one also.. but why.. I don't think that even a 5 year old kid can fit in there.. but at least they're bucket seats

First of all, I can't Imagine why you would actually want to install seats in an fc that werent there before. Those bins were great and the only passenger that should ever be in the car is some hot chick to make you feel like a real man. I say chick only cuz if I ever see a woman drive one, I doubt a man would be cool enough to sit in the passenger seat and watch. I certainly can't sit in the pass. in mine. But I'm off topic.

The 2 + 2 was more an option for vert models. Especially in the U.S. where verts seem to be more favored in some climates than in other parts of the world. The small headroom wasn't as much a problem with those because you could put the top down whereas in a coupe, you practically have to be 5 foot tall or less not to feel cramped.

Take it as you will because I've knew two vert owners that very attached to their trail buckets while I'm accustomed to having the population of my car reach 3+ only with someone laying down . Actualy, for a small car, being a hatch two seater, there is quite a bit of storage space back there as long as you dont always carry your full tool set and misc. RX-7 parts box with you (like almost every 7head does).

When are we gonna learn that we'll never put those flash to pass lenses back on again and the stock airbox, although cool looking cuz it says mazda, will never replace our lovely cold-air intake. And so on and so on.....

somewhat, the side plastic is a bit different. i went from 2+2, and now i am looking for the plastic bits that are right behind the door panels, the ones from the 2+2 setup dont fit with the bins in place.

I switched from 2+2 to bins and didn't switch any of the side trim. Of course, now the trim still has holes in it for the seat mounts, but the bins installed without a hitch.

you serious? when i tried installing the side trim... the bottom of the trim hits the bins and makes it so i cant align it right. When i get back home i'll take a pic to show ya what i mean.

I put rear seats in my car to hold books and stuff. Since it is a sport, it came factory with no bins. I'm taking them back out around mid-spring.

take a look at these before you decide to instal backseats .... mainly because alot of people find it cramped back there... although i do have a few friends(girls) and one guy who find it comfortable (to an extent) back there.

as you can see there if fick all for room... the seats are almost at a 90 deg. angle and force you to lean forward for most of the trip... if someone could find a way to make it so the back part of the seat reclined a little(even 15 degrees) it would make a world of difference!!

Re: Back seats in Vert

NO Vert came with back seats factory. I did see pics of some guy in NY maybe who did all this custom interior stuff, including installing modified coupe back seats in his vert. Why? I have no clue..but they were back there.
