Great buy - $200 with a good body, interior. You'll need to post some pics when you get a chance.
Good luck with the rebuild.

Nowhere 01-12-04 09:15 PM

Score! Try the ATF or oil trick in the engine first. You might be suprised (I was, 2 years sitting, fired right up),.

kpsc 01-12-04 09:27 PM

thats what i am talking about 13b-rew twin turbo or 20b twin turbo looks like a big concern on the 20b conv. is the effect it has on suspension. thanks for the sites

Just found the original sales sticker and all info. from everything single thing done to this car since '88.
Car sold for $17170.00 with two options A/C and a sunroof all others are no-charge. Shipping weight of 2625 lbs. just thought it was really nice to find this stuff in the car locked in the storage bin.

Jodoolin 01-14-04 11:24 AM

Pay attention to Nowhere. It may well be that you do not have a blown engine. How many miles on it? Do several searches on compression, the ATF trick, and starting engines that have sat a while. Begin By preping the engine ( 30Kmaintenance) and assume it was only badly flooded.

Jodoolin 01-14-04 03:36 PM

A further passing thought. Under no circumstance try to start her if there is stale gas in the tank. Drain the tank, fill with new gas, and replce the fuel filter before trying to start her.

kpsc 01-14-04 04:03 PM

i drained the fuel and replaced the plugs also used the atf in each side held the throttle down and tried to crank it sounded like it wanted to start but nothing.
there are alot of miles187k

should give up and just pull the engine for a rebuild :)

Sideways7 01-14-04 04:23 PM

Great find! Its prob. covered in some of those articles posted above, but just doing a swap with a TII engine is a whole lot easeir than swaping in a 13b-REW or 20b. I dont know about the 3rd gen engines, but a 20b swap will run you at least 10k to do it properly. The 13bt is capable of quite a lot of power with the right mods. If you do decide on a 20b swap, more power to you.

szuchung 01-14-04 06:58 PM

200? Nice, there was another guy bought one in Texas for 100. His was 87 NA I think. But good find. I am looking at a FC online for 1800, 91 NA, great condition. Still wondering if I should get it, but it is all the way in Sac. CA.

Jodoolin 01-15-04 05:18 PM

Do not hold down the throttle starting it. If you really want a new engine go for it. The fact it wanted to start suggests it way well do so.
Think again about changing the fuel filter. Sitting a long time turns gas to a varnish like goo. Cuts gas flow = no start. Before you rid your self of the engine do your self a big favor and check the comprtession.

thanks for the advice i know these cars are very sensetive and after sitting for some time i should really take the time to check everything out for sure
ie. fuel related components , sensor, solenoids, etc.
