AVC-R Boost reading incorrectly

Okay, I've searched around....and can't find where anyone else has had this issue.

I've had my AVC-R for over 5 years now, and it's always read/controlled the boost perfectly. Just recently, within the last couple of months, it reads it's lowest setting -760mm constantly, even under full throttle. When it first started, it would randomly come back and start working.....now it's progressively gotten worse and it's pretty much reading -760 all the time now.

Has anyone had this issue, or have any insight on what it could be?

Thnx.

Bad MAP sensor?

I should have noted this in the original, but Ted, your post made me think of it....the OEM boost gauge in gauge cluster still works just fine.

You still think it could be the MAP sensor?

OEM boost gauge has nothing to do with the AVC-R.
The AVC-R has it's own, dedicated MAP sensor - this one might be bad.

Ah, I see...makes sense.

I'm sure that if I want that fixed, I'll probably have to call Apex and see if I can buy one individually, yeah? Or can another map sensor be made to work?

Yes, A'PEXi should be able to just sell you the MAP sensor.
It used to be listed in the catalogs.

Um, their MAP sensor was some funky range, so I think you need to get theirs?
I think it's not your typical 2-bar or 3-bar type... :(

Thanx Ted, I'll give them a call in an hour or so when they open up.

Thanx again.

I called 'em up, just an FYI, their boost(MAP) sensor is 90 bucks....part 499-X002.

And....mine started working again at lunch.....It's just weird how sporatic it's being. It's almost as if it starts working when it's warmer outside.
