autozone silicone hoses
 

I bought 3 packs of those silicone hoses from Autozone, and started reading about how they crack and stuff. Doesn't really make me want to use them anymore. I read some people used it on their NA and they were fine. So I was thinking of using the Autozone hoses on certain areas of the engine. So I would like to know which parts of the engine should I use the good old rubber vacume hoses. I would also like to know what size I should get and how much of it? Thanks

Sup SwiftTone? I am using the silicone hoses from AutoZone without prblems on my T2. I just got done doing the rats nest removal and I replaced all the old rubber with this silicone. I have been running this stuff for my pressure sensor, boost guage and BOV since I have had the car and the only problem I had was a few lines popping off. This stopped when the silicone had shrunk down a little, tightening itself to the vacuum nipples.

The FCD you sent me is working great, but I have one quick question. Do you know if it has a built in fuel cut at a higher boost rate. Every time I pull hard in third gear I hit 10 psi quick, then start creeping up (un-ported wastegate) to 12 and then it feels like I hit a fuel cut. I have only let the car do this twice, as I don't know what is causing it. Thanks for any help.

well if i were you, i would use conventional rubber ones under the upper intake. any of the lines that you can acess from the top with lil work is the ones i would use the silicone hoses on.. that way if you don have a problem with them they can be repaired easily. than if you have good results from using them in easy access spots you can put them where the rat nest it..

Rotary Rocket, I don't know the answer to your question. I've never ran that FCD, the previous owner did. The FCD is a Rotary Performance unit and you should contact them for further information. Sorry that I couldnt help.

mort2002, what size of hoses do I need for under the UIM?

they will hold up but u shouldnt use them for oil or gas lines
