Automatic seatbelt repair?
 

I got automatic seat belts.

Driver side wont move at all from the forward position and the wire/line the seat belt is suppose to glide on comes out of the track in the door if I try to move it back.

Can I fix this without buying another door?

Didn't see anything in the Chiltons Manual about fixing these >.>

Its covered under a "LIFETIME WARRANTY!!!"

If you go to the dealership they will tell you it is not, so what you need to do is call mazda customer care and let them know about it. They will ask for your vin and they will say yes it is, and will then call the service department to let them know.

I have been dicked around for the the past 3 months from the service manger who said he ordered the part but never did. (what an ass hole right!) He gave me the excuse that it had to be custom made and shipped from japan, and blamed the earthquake for the wait.

anyways, go to the dealership and get it taken care of,

I have the same problem and just came back from my local mazda today. They ran my vin for the warranty for us to find out that the original owner of my car already had mazda perform the recall repair once before and that they couldn't do it again for free. After calling customer care they told me the same thing. The repair would cost $130 but the seatbelt part was over $800. I don't wanna spend $1000 on something that may break again.

They say that they can only do the lifetime repair one time. I might have to find the part in the junkyard and just do it myself. Any helpful info from anyone would be really appreciated.

According to this site the seat belt recall is free no matter how many times it has been done.

white comet I had that issue with mine at the dealership. even called the mazda support line and told me that since the recall had been closed I would have to pay for the work. after a lil bit of searching these wonderful forums I found a recall letter someone had posted and called the NHTSA about it. They told me that because Mazda had said that the automatic seatbelts would be an issue they extended the warranty for the LIFE of the car. The NHSTA also told me that if mazda did not live up to that warranty that I was to call the FTC and report a violation. Amazingly Mazda had no problems fixing my car after that lol

When I had talked to the dealership, when they started to look up prcing on the parts is when they discovered the parts were under warranty, If you try to get it fixed as a recall they will say it's a 1 time fix, but the warranty on the seat belts after the recall is a lifetime warranty.

yeah its a life time fix, and it looks weird in mazda's computer because its the ONLY lifetime warranty they have, so if its been done it'll say its been done, but it can be done again.

and you'll have to note that the recall/warranty ONLY covers the rail/motor

Well, everyone pretty much covered it. I'll just add from previous threads...if they break some trims, they won't want to replace them. If you've removed A-Pillar trims before, you're better off removing some of the trims before the dealer gets to it.
