Cuz I went to the dealer and they tell me time and time again the part doesnt exist and I need to buy a whole new pump assembly.
They dont exactly let me climb the counter so there isnt much I can do without a part # :/ |
Someone mentioned buzzing during a hard corner and the alt light coming on. You sure it wasn't the oil light? Because you will get a buzz and an oil light if you corner hard and don't have enough oil in the motor.

I've heard a couple of stories about a turbo 2 and an fd both blowing engines from fuel starvation because they were both at a 1/4 tank..
It can happen... |
For the S5 IN TANK FUEL FILTER
PART NUMBER: N32713ZE1 I rule, you all suck. :-p |
|
Should you use the Mazda filter only? I know that for some stuff you should only use Mazda parts. I guessing this isnt the case since no one has mentioned it, but I was just makaing sure.
On a side note, I was riding in a 360 Modena Challenge that ran out of gas halfway around Texas World Speed way. |
I dont know of an aftermarket one.
|
maybe useing chevron with technron will make the filter last long
|
That filter in the picture has 120K on it.

Dont bother using something to prolong the life of the filter, and dont bother looking for an aftermarket one!
It's $8.31 from Malloy Mazda, and lasts over 100,000 miles. That particular one is for an S5. As I was driving, my pump started dying, I made it to my friend Jon's house, but it was 30 mins to get back to my house, and I didnt want to even try it on a failing pump. So I just replaced my pump with one from an FD he had lying around. So now I have this spare, clean filter, if anyone needs it ;) (Psst, Max, your filter is prolly old . . . . ;)) |

Will Muric acid work to degunk the tank?
(f course draining the tank then sloshing muric acid around to 'etch' the tank? |
