Auto rear end in a manual ?
Can you put a gxl auto Rear end in a manual setup ?
Yes
Yes, as long as its not a turbo drivetrain.
You are familiar with the ratio difference, right? |
If its n/a to n/a swap in a fc it fits. However remember auto fc had 3.90 rear end gearing and the manual fc had 4.10 gearing. So it slightly lowers rpms in 5th gear like 100-200 rpms.

Well it's going in a turbo 2 for the time being . Will it bolt right up ? I know about the different gear ratios . Need to be able to move the car around under its on power . And the auto rear end isn't any different to where it would make a difference to use it in manual trans car ?
NA diffs will not bolt up to the turbo driveshaft.
Because of the rear yoke ? Correct ?
Yes, the rear yolk is different.
Also I'm fairly sure the TII driveshaft is much shorter due to the longer transmission. But that's academic here since it sounds like you have a TII car minus the diff. |
