auto to manual tranny swap, hard or not
 

so i found a red s5 vert (n/a) about 5 miles from me(omg!!!!!!) and i didnt get to check the car out much yet, (doing so sunday)

anyways, he said it was an automatic so the question is how hard would it be for me to find a manual tranny and my dad and i do a swap?

we've had to replace the CV boot on our BMW TWICE now, and hes had some prior car experience. we dotn have a lift or anything but he has pretty much any HAND tool we would need. what else would we need?

the car is gonna be around 1000$ so i think its more owrth it to do a swap(its so effing clean) than get a beater manual. y/n? the others ive seen, that are like 50+ miles away are all at least 2 grand, so yea....

you'd have to custom make crossbars for it plus your ecu is gonna have to be jerry rigged to think you're either in park or neutral all the time or it won't even think about starting its doable but its gonna take a bit of work

Edit: not to mention having to fin a way to mount an extra pedal and run all the clutch lines apropriately

Hey mate, it is possible for you guys to do it but if your not that technically minded then I suggest to get a workshop to do the work.
Get yourself a workshop manual, that should be able to help you out!
