Apexi intake question
Will the kit rx7store.com offers bolt up to an 87 n/a? I know it says 89-91, but is there a difference? I'd really like to go with the Apexi for better filtration.

From what I heard, Apexi provides the best filtration and max flow. I think the only stopping you is attaching it to the AFM on an 86-88, you might just need the adapter.

Yep, that's why I wanna go with Apexi, but if I have to I'll go with the K&N setup. I just read the website that tested four aftermarket airfilters and liked what I saw.
Waiting for someone who's maybe used this kit on an 86-88.. anybody? |
someone will pop up with the website that sells the adaptor woulf would use.... It is possible.

and the member would be me.
HKS adapter at k2rd.com http://www.k2rd.com/Online_Catalog/FC3S/FC3S-index.htm it adds $25 to the price. Go K&N. The difference in hp, if any, would be so tiny it's not wortht the extra $120. Sean |
true that 120 more for the apexi seems lame but there is no maintenence ever for it , and it still is a superior filter
|
This may be stupid, isn't the k&N filtercharger only for N/As? I'm not sure where it attaches so please correct me if I'm wrong. I've been considering one and that's what I've been told.

Wish I could remember the name of the site that did the comparison of filters. Anyway, the Apexi came out the cleanest of the four mentioned. Someone also made a good point about "wet" filters screwing up intake sensors... I think there's some validity to that arguement.
So I'm gonna spend the extra $$ and get the Apexi.. if I can, that is. Jim |
I also carry the HKS adaptor at the RX-7 Store. Tomorrow I will take the apexi intake and see if you can mount it to that adaptor.

Excellent!! Thanks! That's exactly what I wanna do. And I'd rather buy from rx7store than anywhere else.
Thanks Jason. Jim |
Here's the URL to the Intake Comparo, guys!

Jim I have the A'PEXi Power Intake on another turbo car (not the TII - unfortunately, I still have the HKS Mushroom 'O Death but will be remedying this soon). The A'PEXi works great. |

*Note to self*
"NZConvertible is guru..." Thanks for the info... Noted for future reference. Jim |

The Apexi intake will work with the HKS adpator, but you will need a rubber coupler to bridge the gap between the intake and adaptor.
