APEXi GT Exhaust

So, I have a '90 GXL with a streetported N/A motor, no exhaust diffusers, a racing beat header and presilencer, and now the APEXi GT exhaust. I just wanted to say that if anyone is looking for a damn nice, throaty exhaust on their N/A, this is the one. It's a cat-back exhaust, fully welded one piece stainless, expanding from the stock cat outlet to a full 3" before the last muffler, and it looks damn good on the car, too. It's the highest flowing street exhaust for the FC, and damn it shows. With the silencer in the tip (it comes with the exhaust), it draws almost no attention, even with the setup I'm running, and the cabin is almost silent. With the silencer out, it takes on a whole new demeanor. It gets louder, but also throatier, almost an angry deep growl. That and it still is quieter than most civics with N1 mufflers, definatley dB legal.

Just wanted to share, just in case anyone is looking for one mean exhaust system. One last note, though: in the last two days I've done nothing but claim this to be the best $650 (shipped) I've ever spent on my car, and it's worth every cent.

I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Oh, and the flames are F'ing sweet.

I have a similar set up as you do. And I do agree it sounds great. Very throaty doesn't get too much attention. One thing that bothers me is the exhaust gets scratched up when I drive up on a steep driveway. But besides that I recommend it!

the gt spec exits out the driver's side right?

You said you get flames, but you didn't mention anything about you Catalytic Converter. Did you take it out and do a straight pipe?

"a racing beat header and presilencer"

the presilencer replaces the cat, so he isn't running one.

Oh ok. Would a presilencer pass an emissions inspection?

I don't think it will pass a visual inspection but it all depends who you go to.

it probably wouldn't pass a visual or a smog test for that matter... i should have picked this up a few months ago... hmm one with fly around soon

wiL87 10-14-07 02:25 PM

is this a single exit exhaust?

I wish it wasn't 2.5" at the flange. Otherwise I'de run it.

charge 10-31-07 03:50 PM

hey i am interested in one for my TII, is it just on the flange 2,5" or the piping behind the flange also?
on rx7store.net they tell it is a full 3,7" diameter! WOW wtf?
