Apex GT Spec exhaust
On Apex's GT spec exhaust for 86-92 RX-7's. Is it possible to remove the silencer and if so would driving with the silencer for awhile cause it to be stuck in the piping.
Any thing u can tell me is welcome, Alex |
the silencer is bolted into the muffler with one bolt. its easy to put in and take out. it shouldn't ever get stuck.
|
Like Derek said, the silencer is held on with 1 bolt and nut, you can easily remove it. It will not get stuck if you drive with it in or out for a long time. This is a fact, a friend of mine has one and regularly switches them out.

Hmm... mines pretty solid in there.... i can't budge it with all my weight
I removed the bolt and before i tried i did see that lol. Any ideas on how to unstick/why it might be stuck thanks, Alex |
that happens quite a lot. I was tempted to weld a little stick coming off of mine to grab onto with pliers when I need to.
|
take a screwdriver and try to wedge it out of the tip. I had to do this to my apexi when i had my subaru. How does the GT spec sound on and FC?
|
Sounds nice. I love it personally and all the reviews ive seen people agree.
Currently trying to pry it out... |
is it pretty loud? highpitch, lowpitch? i kind of got the poormans GTspec and ended up getting the OBX(aka ssautochrome) exhaust from ebay.
|
It's a medium pitch, fairly loud, but it sounds awesome.

Got it out... yes the exhaust is loud but well toned, i love it.
|
....highest quality exhaust system currently in production for the FC, the tone is perfect to boot!
