Anyone welded a BOV onto the stock intercooling piping?

I would like a BOV so I can gain coolness points but I don't want to spend $200 on a Greddy kit with a GReddy BOV. Has anyone mig welded an aluminum flange onto the aluminum s4 t2 intercooling piping to successfully add a BOV?

I bought a pipe and RFL from 13b4me (that had a flange welded on the stock pipe) and it's worked for me. If you know what you're doing, there should be no problems at all.

I welded the turboXS type H to mine, cut off the large nipple that the stock one runs off of, had it welded there. Worked great. Im actually looking to sell it when I return in june. If you can wait

I already have a pipe, so I don't really need to buy one. Just wondering if it had been done before. I'm wanting to use a Tial also. If you got pics that would roxor.
