anyone know where I can get the oversized femal spade terminals?

I am looking to replace the spade terminals that go into the main fuse block under the hood. I have run all new wiring but cant find these connectors anywhere?

RotaryBuddha 07-01-06 03:46 PM

i know molex makes bigger size terminals, your just going to have to search where industry people shop. like grainger or greybar.

tinvestor 07-01-06 03:47 PM

yeah didnt want to buy 500 of them either

Aaron Cake 07-02-06 10:42 AM

Why do you want to put spade terminals into the fuse box? If you are looking for power, get it another way.

But you can get large spade terminals at most electronics stores and better stock automotive stores.

tinvestor 07-02-06 12:18 PM

Aaron in the main fuse panel under the hood the stock connection is oversize female spade terminals. I need to replace them.

I have tried "electronic stores" no luck.

try Home Depot or Radio Shack?

tinvestor 07-02-06 12:29 PM

nope and nope. Let me tell everyone here that if it is a chain store or mazda dealer I have been there I was hoping for somewhere online as I have tried nearly everywhere.

HOZZMANRX7 07-02-06 12:32 PM

Try robbing some from

the main fuse box from a parts car, pic a part car, etc.

tinvestor 07-02-06 12:52 PM

I have no interest in hacking my main power in I have run new wires and need new terminations for them. Have you ever tried to pry apart a connector and reuse it? does not work well.

RotaryEvolution 07-02-06 02:44 PM

works fine if you know how to do it, you can then solder the terminal if you are not happy with the connection.

AUGieDogie 07-03-06 03:09 AM

I have been looking for the same connector. I would make it super easy to add a circut under the hood. I have checked all the local shops and the big one is too big, its really loose. The smaller ones of course dont fit at all. One of these days I'm going to take it to Radar Elect. (if they still have a retail store) and see if they can find me one.

I agree with Karack that cut and reusing an old connector will work but damnit a new one is just so much more convenient. I really dont know why it is so damn hard to find one!

Aaron Cake 07-03-06 09:36 AM

So you are trying to replace the terminals? If you were at an electronics store and they did not stock or could not order them, then it was not an electronics store. :) Don't walk in there and say " I need parts for my RX-7". Walk in there with an older terminal and say "I need more of these.". Radio Shack is NOT an electronics store. If you can't find a local source, check out WayTek Wire ( http://www.waytekwire.com ).

tinvestor 07-03-06 05:27 PM

Aaron, on that site they are listed as "push on" and they have only "normal" size

Karack, If you have seen the pics of my engine bay and understand that I am running the wires through the body so that there are no bulky harnesses running in the engine bay, it would look like ass having soldered on, mismatched wires sticking out of the main power block.

I just looked through the WayTek paper catalog and they have about 900 different varieties of spade terminals. Call them. :)

tinvestor 07-04-06 03:09 PM

I will but again I guess they call them "push ons"

RETed 07-06-06 07:12 AM

Yep, the "normal" .250" female spade do not fit.
I tend to salvage used ones from wrecks myself.
I think they are weird, metric sized.
Maybe 7mm?

WOW I am screwed!! If Ted cant find them they must not exist.
