suprfast7 04-16-04 11:47 PM

Yeah I will ship anywhere and would anyone be interested in anything else done with metal fab cause im in Tech school and have plenty of time for projects and all the tools and materials you could think of... I made some block off plates and a turbo exhuast exhuast flange last week... used the plasma cutter for the flange then ground out the rough edges came out damn nice... may be buildin a custom turbo exhaust manifold for friends race car soon... but next week I will start planning and buildingthe box and post pics and if anyone wants one I will probly sell them cheap

suprfast7 04-17-04 11:03 AM

Well I think im going to go with a simialr design where cold air is rammed through a duct into the box will be getting to work on it monday

JKM 04-17-04 12:00 PM

I want one too! I don't have the tools to make one myself, and premade ones cost too damn much...

Mason Rx7 04-17-04 01:18 PM

I am interested. If they are resonably priced that is...

86project 04-17-04 05:52 PM

hey man i want one for sure, if it has the ram air induction. and also what part of ga are you in maybe we can get together on the best way to make theml, i am i jacksonvill florida so where ever in ga you are you are not that far away, but i do want one so pm me with the facts and info

RylAssassin 04-17-04 07:01 PM

Hell yeah i need a cold air box.
I have an 88 TII with way to much heat under the hood. Its funny cuz all the ppl that ive seen make these cold air boxes only make them for themselves!
Damn selfish ppl in here!! j/k:D
Well anyway you would have to make one of these first and post VERY detialed pics of the design and we'll let you know!
Goodluck

CelticRx7 04-17-04 07:41 PM

I am interested... I purchased a CorkSport intake, so I dont have much room. If you could work with that, I will buy one...

suprfast7 04-17-04 09:20 PM

ALright damn I wasnt sure if to many ppl would want one but I can make one before thursday and make pix and the first one will be sold... it will have a duct for cold air and be made out of aluminum so it souldnt weigh much at all so im thinkin maybe 40 shipped... oh and im in Columbus GA... what do yall think about the price and all

JKM 04-17-04 09:31 PM

Would the same cold air boxes work on S4's and S5's? Just a thought...

suprfast7 04-17-04 09:35 PM

forgot all about that I do have a friend with a series S5 if there is any differences i will just have two different designs as of mounting areas so if anyone wants one just give info on the year of the car... either way I will make it work

suprfast7 04-17-04 09:37 PM

In fact im getting the tape measure and writing down measurements for it in just a sec

JKM 04-17-04 10:47 PM

Awesome.

dr.jones63 04-17-04 11:18 PM

I will be interested if you have the "ram air" and you could sell em on ebay too. I bet the S5 & S4 are the same. Other than the front bumper their body frame is basically the same. What a gold mine

dr.jones63 04-17-04 11:24 PM

Oh yeh the AFM is different. How about a foam seal?

dr.jones63 04-17-04 11:31 PM

.

Russ 04-17-04 11:36 PM

id be intrested. if you need a webpage or anything made up for it let me know ill see what i can do.

strikland 04-18-04 07:20 AM

hey suprfast, I'm in Athens, and I might be interested... when my car gets running :)

suprfast7 04-18-04 10:22 AM

Well what does everyone think of the price of 40 shipped I think I may have to change the price for shipping in some cases... but I do think its fairly cheap and im not sure where I could get a ram air effect from without drilling a hole into the engine bay anyone have ideas

Great. From what I've seen in the past, ~40 is great.

dr.jones63 04-18-04 01:24 PM

sounds good..................pic's

dr.jones63 04-18-04 02:09 PM

a flex hose to run down into the duct behind the fog light... ?????

Russ 04-18-04 02:09 PM

$40 would rock

suprfast7 04-18-04 05:16 PM

yeah im going to look into a flex hose running to a spot where air can be rammed through it and into the box... would it be better to make the cone filter totally inclosed in a box and then the hose feedin cold air into it... its and idea

RylAssassin 04-18-04 05:33 PM

dude that would be great.
But you have to make sure to make one for a series 4 and series 5 rx7's cuz they are diffrent.

86project 04-18-04 06:24 PM

yeah dude you would want to have a cone filter inside the box, and then "ram" the air into that

86project 04-18-04 06:25 PM

oh yeah i almost forgot i have an 86 gxl

hope to hear from you soon, i really need one
thanks dude

john

Wallydog11 04-19-04 10:46 AM

yeah $40 or less and i'm interested

suprfast7 04-19-04 02:42 PM

Well i did some planning and the first one will be a box sealed on top when the hood is closed the side of the box will have a 3 inch opening and flex hose or whatever I think I might leave that to whoever would want to buy one so they can route the flex hose or whatever to where ever they want... sounds confusing... the buyer will have to route and supply there own flex hose from home depot or whatever.....how does it sound

Digi7ech 04-19-04 03:09 PM

It will have to be cheap. I can make that one out of sheet metal ro something for close to nothing. I made something similar out of Fiberglass.

http://edge_krusher.tripod.com/airbox.html

Beware. It is popup intensive Tripod. :(

Parastie 04-19-04 04:53 PM

$40 sounds awesome, although you might give the buyer the option of having the 3inch hole on the side or on the bottom.

86project 04-19-04 06:20 PM

that is a good point parasitl, i think the bottom would really work swell :)

86project 04-19-04 06:22 PM

sorry bout the typo parasite

Tattoovido 04-19-04 08:03 PM

Count me in..i need i for S4...bottom ram air.
PM asap. email:Vze4zxkc@verizon.net

suprfast7 04-19-04 10:15 PM

ok well I guess a hole in the bottom I will do but as for the hose and routing thats up to you guys.. and im thinkin about using a certain area to mount the box so it dosent vibrate against anything...

cezonetheillest 04-19-04 10:19 PM

i want one also

ibemrzach 04-19-04 10:42 PM

i'm in. e-mail me.

suprfast7 04-20-04 10:53 AM
